Notes:
1. Bothering to rhyme Glenmorangie with VIP is bewildering, to believe that it is somehow classy is possibly more so.
2.From the demented album The Oimels (just look at the album cover…), one of those albums where the tracks get weirder the further you go. This one has a great nonsense refrain and a good screaming freakout at the end. The whole record is a strange mix of jazz, krautrock and spacey zonkedness.
3. What do you mean, you don’t like The Cars?
4. Ken Nordine is a great combination of straight man and Hep Cat, the closing sample is as good as any Zappa tape cutup. From the superb Son of Word Jazz.
5. Nice glockenspiel loop (and it’s not often you get to use that phrase). More of an internoodle than a fully formed idea but pleasant nevertheless.
6. A clever song of romantic resignation….with someone briefly playing the saw. (oh, and produced by Steve Albini, particularly for AC)
7. Depressing.
8. I’ve always associated this with Nathaniel Mellors when it pops up on the iPod, I think perhaps it’s the mental voice which reminds me of some of the dialogue from his film(s) Ourhouse….
